About

2nd Annual Symposium on Dust Storms in the Western US

Processes, Impacts, and Future Changes

Dust storms are pervasive in the Western US and have profound impacts on the region's environment, economy, and public health. The purpose of this one day symposium is to bring together researchers and stakeholders who study various aspects of dust storms to share new research, identify emerging problems, and develop collaborations. The range of dust-related topics covered will be diverse, ranging from physical processes to health impacts to mitigation strategies. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research and applications via oral presentation, poster session, or informal conversation. Presentations from graduate students and early career scientists are highly encouraged.

The symposium will be in Davis at the UC Davis International Center. The workshop will host podium and poster presentations in order to capture the wide range of research that has been conducted. Although there are no funds to support travel to the meeting, there are no registration fees and all meals will be provided on-site.
